At the beginning of September, EcoWipes had the opportunity to participate in the conference 'Plastic Strategy and Cosmetics. New packagings Era ”, organized by the Polish Association of the Cosmetics Industry and Deloitte Advisory.
The theme of the conference was "The European strategy for plastics in the circular economy" published last year by the European Commission, which aims to lead to responsible plastic management. The European Union is leading up to ensure that all plastic packaging can be re-used or recycled by 2030. In EU countries, the potential for plastic waste recycling is still unused, and the reuse and recycling of used plastic is still very low.
At the meeting, the report of the Polish Association of the Cosmetics Industry and Deloitte was also presented. It is showing challenges and recommendations for many interested groups, including: government, packaging producers, cosmetics industry and waste processing companies. The report indicates what actions should be taken for more prosperous and more sustainable plastics management, so that the results assumed by the Plastic Strategy are possible until 2030.
At the end of the conference, together with other companies representatives from the cosmetics sector, we signed the Declaration, which is a symbolic commitment to action.
